I feel it was a slightly inappropriate comment. About the hug, if its ok in your circle, fine. No need of complaints etc. But you should take your hubby inside next time or record the diagnosis on your mobile. Just making it clear to him that such advances are not welcome.

Oh, c’mon! You felt it was inappropriate, so it was.
The right way to handle that is: “Doctor, I’m uncomfortable with that. What do you mean, and are you being serious?” Then let him react.
You (obviously) felt it was inappropriate. Learn to handle these things while they are still small.
That way;
The Doc can apologize, and straighten this out.
You’ll feel better going back.
Your husband won’t wonder what is going on, etc..
It all becomes the Win/win, but only if you are sure enough about yourself to question an authority figure.

I think the hug attempt was more inappropriate than the comment, which was pretty bad. I wouldn’t go back.

that was DEFINITELY inappropriate. Journal the experience now. Copy/paste what you typed here. Add any extra details/conversation/anything that you still remember that are 100% true, remove anything that isn’t 100% true. Then, you can decide whom to consult first: the manager of the clinic, or a lawyer.

You must take action, for your sake, and the sake of potential other victims.

out of the line, yes… inappropriate to like filing a complaint…. maybe. It was unprofessional to say that – so filing a complaint might be necessary. Getting a lawyer and suing him… probably not.

Im soooo sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my cat of 13 years in January of this year due to cancer. When she was diagnosed I did get a second opinion. It’s always a good idea to do so. I even do it for myslef. Just for the next time make sure you have a backup doctor. It’s a learning experience. At least your little one is resting somewhere he won’t feel pain.

If he was only two, then he is most likely cat meat. Trust me. I lost a cat. 2 1/2. Found half of him a weak later.It’s a true story.

i love cats as well. I think they should of given plenty of other options because its not your fault he was feeling that way. In my opinion that is a stupid thing for them to put the cat down.

you know you dont think vets could be wrong . but this goes to prove that they can be. ithink you did the right thing you listened to your vet and did what they told you unfortunatly your vet didnt see what it reall was. but i know its painfulll for youto lose your cat. but look at it like this your cat is in a better place now , pain free and your cat is happy and healthy now. your cat isnt hurting anymore and thats the most important thing .. cat knows you tried to do everything you could but it was his/her time . they will laways love you .

I feel very sorry for your loss. My thought is that a bladder infection should clear up in a relatively short amount of time with the help of anitbiotics. If this continued on and on, I think that a second opinion could have been warranted. I certainly would not take a new kitty to the old vet. I have never heard of anything like this before, so it could have been easy to misdiagnoise, but still, it should have been researched further as the condition continued
